Gas Sampling Bags

Type "D" Directional Gas Bag

Type "D" Directional Gas Bag

The construction of the Type "D" Directional Gas Bags is similar to traditional gas bags in that they have an internal rubber bladder and a sewn fabric outer cover that protects the bladder and allows the bag to be pressurized. In addition, however, the Type "D" Directional Bag contains an internal, curved flexible nylon tube that enables the user to to direct the gas bag either upstream or downstream. This directional capability makes for easier and safer insertion into the main.

The Type "D" Directional Gas Bag is available with an optional inserting device. A rigid brass tube with a 90° bend near its attachment to the bag is fitted with a tire valve, pressure gauge, air release valve and tapered neoprene plug; allowing easy inflation/deflation and monitoring. The tapered neoprene plug is free to slide on the brass tube or "stem," and allows the tap hole to be sealed as soon as the bag is inserted. No gas escapes to the atmosphere once the plug is in place.

CAUTION: The line pressures given above are for use with bags in series with a vent pipe extending vertically between them. Accompanying illustrations show this.
